This could possible be the worst headset i have ever used for the blackberry 8830. After throwing my other Motorola H850 out the car window after hearing everyone say “what? I cant hear you…what” i decided to try this unit since it seemed to get really good reviews in the Dolce and Gabana version and the Plum version. After not being able to sync the unit easily for some reason, i finally got it to talk to my phone. The sound quality was louder than my old headset but a bit static. Its so bad, the unit doesnt stay synced with my Blackberry for more than 5 seconds and then just keeps dropping and re-syncing constantly. I can not use this with this phone. Not sure if i have a bad unit or if it just plain stinks but I will be trying a plantronics next. This whole bluetooth headset technology really really sucks.
My Score: 1 / 5 Stars
1. This is so small and lightweight that you forget you are wearing it.
2. The sound quality is exceptional. I don’t understand how something so small can give off the sound quality this one does.
3. Very easy to use. Much, much easier than fiddling around for your phone and flipping it open to talk, especially since our city just enacted a cell phone ban while driving. With an incoming call, simply touch the button (which is easy to feel and get to) and begin talking.
4. Voice recognition with my Moto KrzrV1m is exceptional, as well. The phone has an option for adjusting voice sensitivity.
5. The only reason I didn’t give this little wonder 5 stars is that it’s difficult to get the headset to sit snugly on your ear. If not seated just so, it will “dangle” or lean away from your ear if you tilt your head. Just about 90% of the people I see wearing headsets have the Motorola H700 on their ear. I’ve heard the same complaint from a few others. (Perhaps we have odd-shaped ears?!)
6. I like the fact that mine is “Fire”. Makes it easy to find and differentiate from my husband’s…thus the reason I purchased the color I did.
7. I especially like the fact that this headset can be recharged when the battery gets low. However, with all my use so far, I haven’t had to recharge it. The color indicator is very helpful for this purpose. The headset that my husband had purchased for us required a AAA battery which made it heavier and not as dependable.
This is a great headset! Don’t hesitate to purchase it. Just be sure to buy OEM and not a knockoff.
My Score: 4 / 5 Stars
